Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Acceptance

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of Visual Bucket List at visualbucketlist.com (the “App”), operated by Visual Bucket List (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the App with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

The service

The App is free and provides tools to create visual bucket lists, including templates, cloud saving through Google Firebase, optional guest access, and image suggestions from third-party providers (such as Pexels). We may change, suspend or withdraw features. Where a change is likely to significantly affect you, we will try to give reasonable notice, for example by a notice in the App, so you have a chance to save your content.

Accounts

  • You must provide an accurate email address when registering.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
  • Guest (anonymous) sessions are tied to one browser. Guest lists may be permanently lost if you sign out, clear browser data, use private browsing or change devices, and we may not be able to recover them. Create an account if you want to keep your list.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App. In particular, you must not:

  • try to gain unauthorised access to the App, other accounts or the underlying Firebase project;
  • abuse or overload the App or its APIs, including image search quotas, or use automated tools to scrape or flood it;
  • upload or enter content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else’s intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • upload malware or interfere with the App’s security features, including reCAPTCHA; or
  • use the App in a way that breaks any law.

Your content

You keep ownership of the text, images and other content you add to the App (“your content”). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to operate, secure and support the App for you. This licence ends when your content is deleted from the App, except for copies in backups that are removed over time.

You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, any images you upload, and that your content does not break these Terms or any law. Couple-style boards are stored on one account. Anyone who can sign in to that account can see the whole board.

Images from Pexels

Suggested images are provided by Pexels and are subject to the Pexels licence. We do not own those images. The licence does not cover every possible use, for example showing identifiable people in a way they would object to, or suggesting that a person or brand endorses something. Check the licence before reusing any image outside the App. Image suggestions are generated automatically and we do not review them in advance.

Reporting content

If you believe content in the App infringes your rights or is unlawful, contact us with details of the content and why you are concerned. We may remove or disable access to content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law.

Third-party services

The App depends on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Hosting, Storage and App Check), Google reCAPTCHA, and Pexels or similar image services. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms, including the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not control these providers and, to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for their outages or content.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time and ask us to delete your account by contacting us. We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if we stop offering the App. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to save your content. If we decide to shut down the App entirely, we will try to give at least 30 days' notice.

Your consumer rights

Under the Australian Consumer Law and similar laws in other countries, you may have rights and guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or changed by any contract (“non-excludable rights”). Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or changes those rights.

Disclaimer of warranties

Subject to your non-excludable rights, the App is provided free of charge on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the App will always be available, error-free or secure, or that your content will never be lost, and we exclude all warranties and conditions that are not expressly set out in these Terms. We recommend you keep your own copy of anything important to you.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your non-excludable rights, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Where the law lets us limit our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the App or the law. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to let users know, for example by a notice in the App. Changes apply from the date they are posted and will not apply to anything that happened before then. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you can stop using the App and ask us to delete your account.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ohio. If you live elsewhere, including in Australia, you may also have the benefit of mandatory consumer laws where you live.

General

If any part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, it will be read down or removed to the minimum extent needed, and the rest of these Terms will continue to apply. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
